Ben Keeler was twenty-one when he moved from his hometown in Michigan. Amidst the unforgiving winters, thick summer days, and mid-western manners of Chicago, Keeler refined his signature sound. After graduating from Columbia College for Music, Keeler joined forces with fellow Chicago musicians and formed Ben Keeler and the 500 Club. When he wasn’t performing, Keeler could be found aboard sailboats on Lake Michigan, teaching music to kids, coaching Little League baseball, and working on movie sets. The Windy City treated Keeler well.

Ben Keeler and the 500 Club’s latest record, Water Water, caught the eager ear of Chicago’s music community. The record’s lush string, horn, and choir textures established Keeler’s musical clout, while the band’s energetic live show captured the attention of all who experienced it. This put Ben Keeler and the 500 Club in some of Chicago’s premier venues and allowed them a consistent Midwest tour schedule.

Leaving the safety of Chicago success, Keeler took a chance and set his sights on the Pacific. With little planning, low money, and no hesitation he took his music to the west coast. After touring across the country on the road trip out to California, he eventually settled in San Francisco. The City extended a warm warm welcome to Keeler, as he quickly created a buzz in the local scene. He established a loyal fan base by captivating people in hip San Francisco venues all over the city.

With the San Francisco sun, scenery, and nightlife serving as backdrop, Keeler’s music and perspective have been challenged and refreshed. His music and live show reflect this spark. He has been working on a new album (to be announced this Summer) and performing all around the Bay Area and throughout California. Bringing his solo act to California laid the groundwork for Ben Keeler and the 500 Club's west coast prescence.
